Club Atwater Squash Players Celebrate Major Wins

A big congratulations to Club Atwater squash players, who had a spectacular finish this season!

Club Atwater hosted its 7th consecutive Quebec Open in April, welcoming players from all over Canada for a thrilling weekend of elite squash competition. Club Atwater had an impressive showing with over 25 players competing in various categories. A special congratulations to our very own Nicolas Mourga for becoming the 2019 “B” Quebec Open Champion!

Club Atwater had a superb finish in the Canadian National Doubles Squash Championships, hosted by the Granite Club and other Toronto clubs on August 5-7th. With 21 players in eight categories, the Club had the largest contingency from outside Ontario and won the tournament!

  • Susan Bell won the ¾ playoff, successfully making the podium.

  • Bart Sambrook won the Men’s 55 division for his second title of the season.

  • Club Atwater dominated the Sunday Women’s C draw with wins across the board.

  • Nancy Legouffe and Christianne Brunelle won the ¾ playoff and Susana Stroll and Joanne Berger won the 5/6 playoff.

  • Two Club Atwater teams faced off in the Women’s B draw finals – Sandie Charmeteau and Clemencia Castillo beat Jennifer Bogert and Dagny Ivarsdottir in a close match.

  • Brid Niocaill and Farnaz Olyaei won the tournament.
